Wed 17 November 2021Immaculate

Nantwich Players is offering you even more opportunities to get some amazing theatre in during the festive period with Oliver Lansley's Immaculate. Running from the 16th to the 19th of December, this  comic variation on the virgin birth will have you laughing out loud.

A young woman finds her life spiralling into confusion when she wakes up one morning, unaccountably pregnant. It was first performed by Les Enfants Terribles Theatre Company as part of the 2005 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, at the Gilded Balloon, Edinburgh, on 3 August 2005.

The play takes place in a small flat belonging to Mia. Young, free and single, she hasn’t had sex for the last eleven and a half months. So when she wakes up one morning heavily pregnant, with the Angel Gabriel on her doorstep claiming parentage, she is understandably flummoxed. When her ex-boyfriend, Michael, then decides he’s the father, it seems it can’t get any worse. However, things take an even more surreal turn when Mia’s old classmate Gary turns up claiming it’s his baby – and suddenly Lucifer wants in on the action too.

Director Bethany Gail had this to say about this laugh a minute production. "This really is a laugh out loud comedy with lots of hilarious twists and turns. The cast are fantastic and its been such a pleasure to direct such a talented group of actors.  This amazing cast and play will really give you the good laugh I think we all need. The studio at Nantwich Players are really offering amazing alternative Christmas entertainment  this season so don't miss it.
