We’re Heading to the All-England Theatre Festival Final!

Tue 3 June 2025We’re Heading to the All-England Theatre Festival Final!

We’re incredibly proud to share that we will be representing the North of England at the All-England Theatre Festival Final on Saturday 7th June 2025 at the Gladstone Theatre, Port Sunlight.

Our Studio production of Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons by Sam Steiner, directed by Bethany Gail, has made it all the way to the national final after winning three consecutive rounds: Cheshire, Leverhulme, and the Northern Area competitions.

This prestigious festival celebrates the very best in one-act amateur theatre from across the country. The English Final brings together the top four productions from each region to compete for the national title – a huge honour and a proud moment for everyone involved in the production.

At the Northern Area Final, we were thrilled to receive awards for Best Décor, Best Actress (Holly Bevins-Jones), Best Actor (Kit Phillips) and Best Team and Overall Winner – a true reflection of the creativity, dedication, and talent of our cast and crew.

What’s the play about?

The average person will speak 123,205,750 words in a lifetime. But what if there were a limit?
Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons explores a society where a daily word limit is imposed on its citizens, forcing people to rethink how they communicate and connect. It’s powerful, thought-provoking, and deeply relevant.

A word from our Director

Bethany Gail, Director and Head of Studio, said:

“It’s been a privilege to direct this production and see my vision realised by such an outstanding team. I could not have created this challenging play without the support of so many people: our exceptional actors Holly Bevins-Jones and Kit Phillips, stage manager Sandie Laughlin, technical team Luke Murphy and Jeremy Acklam, image creator Steve Bird, and VO and video performers Chris Finney and Adam Goode. Thank you all.

Although we’ve reached the All-England Finals before, we’ve never taken home the trophy – but who knows… maybe this year. Fingers crossed.”
