Nantwich Players are very excited to be beginning 2020 with their next Play in February. A stunning and honest play of our time, ‘Honour’ by Joanna Murray-Smith.
‘Honour’ is a frank, honest, play that cannot fail to move anyone who has ever put their trust in another human being.
George and Honor have been happily married for thirty-two years. They have a perfect understanding of each other until a beautiful female journalist, sent to profile columnist George, methodically sets out to challenge that understanding.
With love, hope and raw emotion, Honour tells this affecting tale of thoughtless conceit from the perspective of the three women involved.
‘Honour’ was first performed in Melbourne on 14 November 1995 and has since been performed in more than three dozen countries, including on Broadway and in the West End, to critical acclaim.
We caught up with John MacKay, the Director of this fantastic play: “Though we’re in the fairly early stages of rehearsal for our production of Honour, the cast and I are really enjoying the play’s witty, scintillating dialogue, counterpointed by its often intense emotions. Their rawness and poignancy rises to the surface as we delve ever more deeply into the characters’ relationships. It’s an exhausting but rewarding process!”
“And what if the truth is that we do not know love because we do not know how to deny ourselves anything?”
‘Bracingly honest and deeply moving’
