AS
well as senior and junior members, Nantwich Players also have a Youth
Theatre for children in Year 7 at school and upwards. We have a current
membership of 20 youngsters, with a waiting list of young people wanting to join.
The Youth Theatre meets during school term time to take part in
workshops run by professional tutors. This involves a fee when the young
people attend. The year's work culminates in a production on the
Players' Theatre stage, presented for the general public.
Like the senior productions,
this is entered in two local amateur theatre festivals - and last year
the Youth Theatre production of "The Elephant Man" resulted in six
awards for individuals and the group. (See the "Awards"
page.
The weekly workshops - which include rehearsals for the production for
the public - are held in the Players' Theatre unless circumstances
prevent it, when we have to book an alternative venue.
We also
organise the occasional workshop for young people on the waiting list.
To find out more about joining our Youth Theatre, send an e-mail to
youth@nantwichplayers.com
or write to Youth Theatre, The Players' Theatre, Pillory Street, Nantwich, CW5 5BG. You
could pop your letter through the theatre's stage door opposite Nantwich
Museum.
